Easter Fashion

I'll be the first to admit that I was a little worried that dressing a little boy wouldn't be as much fun as dressing a girl but I can now say that that is in fact not true.  Granted the accessories for boys are more limited but who am I kidding!  I've spent a small fortune on headbands and bows for Selah and the girl will not keep anything on her head or in her hair for more than 5 minutes and she ends up looking like a homeless kid with that wild crazy hair of hers.

So while I'm still a big fan of the onesies for Mr. I Have Rolls of Adorableness Everywhere, I gotta say the spring and Easter fashions for kiddos are killing me!  Here are some must haves (and already haves) for this spring and summer for my little ones.

This adorable outfit can be found at Target right now in their Easter dressy category.  I just about died when I saw this online and it's even cuter in person.  It screams Connecticut Casual a la Andy Bernard from The Office and I can't wait to get Harrison in it for some summer pics.

I bought this outfit for Harrison to wear for Easter Sunday and it arrived the day we were going to a friend's wedding and I just couldn't resist putting him in it and lemme just say, he was killing it in this outfit.  Another score from Target!

I was in Old Navy this morning to pick up some of their awesome flip flops for Selah when I stumbled across this one piece for Harrison.  The picture does not do it's cuteness justice and I just had to get it for my little man.  The material is a little thin but that's okay considering it does get pretty freaking hot around here during the summer months.

And cue ridiculous internal screaming over these boat shoes.  Because what baby boy doesn't need boat shoes to go with his previous country club look outfits?

I probably get 90% of Selah's clothes from Target because they're always on point fashion wise and they're also affordable.  And any excuse I can get to meander my cart over into the clothing area, I'll take.  Win win.  During the same online shopping 'trip' as Harrison's other outfits, I found this dress for Selah for Easter.  The Cherokee brand makes really well made stuff and while their stuff does run a little big, it's good because I can usually get more than one season out of it for my 93rd height percentile little lady.

I got this cardigan to go with the above dress as well because not only could it be snowing here on Easter, it's such a great color that will go with a lot of other things she has already.

These jelly sandals are super cute and would go with Selah's dress but looking at these bring me back to the ones I had as a kid and how gawd awful they made your feet smell.  Decisions decisions.

This dress keeps catching my eye whenever I'm at Target so I may just have to bite the bullet and pick it up.  I think the little circles are embroidered and it's a great melon-y color that would work well during the summer as well.  Dang you Target and your irresistible clothes!

Since I'm still in this weird in between phase of maternity clothes being huge on me (thank you for that!), my hips are still not cooperating in the pants department and neither is my, ahem, upper half, I'm trying to figure out what to do with myself for Easter.  I have a couple cute maxi dresses that I may consider because honestly, shopping for clothes right now (and especially trying them on) is not as fun as it used to be so until then, I'll just make sure my kids look cute!

Fall Fashions for All

So we all know I've been looking forward to fall for months now; it's my favorite season hands down.  While I'll be dressing a little differently this year as opposed to last (hello preggo weight gain and booty galore), I've still got a few things that will be getting Selah and I through the glorious fall months.

1) I was hunting for some new, dressier brown boots for awhile and these are so perfect!  I was worried they'd be a little tall for knee high boots but they're exactly what I was looking for and with the red zipper and gold studs on back, they're quickly becoming my new favorites.
2) I love hoodies.  Who doesn't really though?  That being said, you have to be careful about hoodies making you look like some slobby college student if that's all you're ever in so I was looking for a hoodie that was not only long enough to wear over leggings but had a little something extra.  The little pop of leopard print in the hood is just enough to dress it up a little and not so much that the husband will start calling me Janice a la Friends.
3) I foresee a lot of leggings in my future this winter.  They're cute, comfy and will be sucking in all that post partum baby weight until I can get back to working out.  So why not this cute camo pair and add a simple black sweater of it?
4) I was purusing eBay recently (no big shocker there) and saw this really cute faux down jacket.  The big fur hood and cable knit sweater accents make it more than just a plain ol' down jacket.  Now if I could only justify bringing it home with the slight jacket hoarding issue I have.

1) Trying to find cute, fashionable things for Selah while not breaking the bank can be difficult at times.  I like her to look cute (what mom doesn't) but I have a fundamental issue with spending $80 on a single pair of pants for her.  So when I saw these boots online, I couldn't add them to my shopping cart quick enough.
2 & 3) Both of these are going to be part of her outfit for family/maternity pictures next month.  I bought the jacket earlier in the spring and while it was a tad big at the time, I'm hoping it looks okay for photos.  And at least I know she'll get to wear it for awhile.
4) I'm thinking this shirt needs to be part of the winter wardrobe stat.  Little girls in buffalo plaid...can't get much cuter I don't think.

1) I already know that dressing a boy is going to be much different than dressing a girl but I'm going to try to go with it.  Since the little man will be coming in (hopefully) December, he's definitely going to be needing a hat for when we go out.  I've never been a big fan of the fleece hats and since I can't knit to save my life, this hat is perfect.
2) This little outfit by Carter's is so cute!  I love little boy sweaters!  I think he'll be rocking fisherman sweaters during the colder months.
3) Plaid button down with chambray roll-up sleeves.  'Nuff said.
4) I saw this cardigan onesie before we'd found out we were having a boy but I can say for certain that at some point, our little guy will be wearing this for some sort of photo session.

eBay Fashion...Toddler Addition Part I

eBay.  Pretty much everybody knows what it is but there's not many people who really know all the awesomeness it has to offer.  I consider myself somewhat of an eBay fiend.  eBay isn't just used stuff!  Although I will be the first to admit I am not too good to buy a pair of gently used 7 For All Mankind Dojo wide leg jeans.  Still one of my favorite purchases four years later.  No, eBay is full of brand new things!  There are a lot of eBay stores that sell brand new things and usually at much cheaper than in a store.  I like myself and my little 2 year old sidekick to look nice (that's not a crime) but I also don't want to break the bank on something that's going to get avocado or peanut butter on it within 5 minutes so I usually head over to eBay to see what I can dress the little miss in.  So sit back, check out these awesome finds and then bust out your wallet because I guarantee you're not going to want to let these go!

Granted it's now the wrong season for these first finds but these were some of my favorite cool weather pants for Selah.

These leggings come in sets of 3 and there are so many color options!  They're also really thick and almost woolen and perfect for those colder months.

I bought these boots for Selah and they are soooo adorable!  Purple, fringe, boots...triple threat!

Now, I know a lot of people steer away from items that are being shipped straight from somewhere in Asia but lemme be the first to tell you, give it a chance.  I've found some amazing finds on eBay that have come from Asia that are much cheaper and if you're willing to wait a little longer, it's well worth it.  How cute are these leggings?  Pretty dang cute.

And this dress!  For $14...I think you can wait a couple weeks.  Am I right???
So run, don't walk to your nearest computer and get goin'.  You can thank me later :)

Surprisingly Good Finds at My Least Favorite Retail Chain . . . aka Walmart

I'll admit that I'm a diehard lover of all things Target.  It's set up all nice and inviting on the inside; which I'm sure is their ultimate goal to suck you into completely emptying your bank account when all you really wanted was some applesauce pouches for your toddler!  They've got to be taking some sort of business tips from the casinos when it comes to luring you in and never letting you go until it's too late to save yourself.  That being said, there are some things that Target just does not carry.  Don't get me wrong...I love Target but it's not necessarily for the super self-sufficient person.  It's for people who want to appear self-sufficient.  I.E. no real tool department, no paint department, no camping department, etc etc.  Walmart, however, does have all these things.  It also has a customer base that makes you never want to never have children.  I try to avoid going to Walmart if at all possible because not only does it usually cause my blood pressure to go through the roof but I've also been nearly physically assaulted at one by some lunatic who literally tried to rip a bracelet off my arm that apparently she was not going to leave without.  I wish I was joking about that one.

I've been trying out several different types of candles and scent burners recently and they've all been pretty much sucking when it comes to actually putting out a scent that goes more than 3 feet past the candle itself.  I'd found one last year that I loved and unfortunately, it came from Walmart.  I knew what I needed to do.  So I packed up Selah and we headed over to the less scary of the two Walmarts that are near our house.  Always go less scary if you can...it makes a difference in your experience.  And go at 9AM on a Wednesday...you'll have the place to yourself; thus minimizing your chances of blood pressure rising incidents.

I'm sure you're wondering what exactly is this holy grail of candles that I'm actually trekking to Walmart for.  Here it is:

It's the MainStays Aromabeads candle.  Not in this particular scent, mind you, but this is all I could find a decent photo of.  The so-called Aromabeads definitely do their job and I can smell my yummy vanilla candle upstairs from its spot on the kitchen counter.  It's actually a decent looking candle too if you don't pay attention to the kinda chintzy looking label.  The lid is oil rubbed bronze (and we all know how much I love me some ORB) and you can even repurpose the candle to a container for who knows what after it's all burned!  Plus, these bad boys are only $5.  Smells good, decent looking, $5...that's a big win for me.  So while we were there, I ventured into the toddler clothing area.  Now, Walmart clothing can be a real disaster and sometimes, there are some little gems here and there.  They carry Carter's brand, which is always good, and they also carry a couple others which can be surprisingly cute depending on the time of year.

But boy, did I hit the jackpot this day!  They had some seriously cute dresses and rompers and I pretty much picked everything they had in Selah's size.  On the sizes, I went with the dresses in a 3T since she's so tall and a 24 month/2T in the rompers and those ended up working out perfectly so far.  Here are some of the sweet little items I found.  Oh and did I mention they were all under $5???

These rompers are so cute!

I got a few of these shirts in different colors, especially the white, because they'll go perfectly with with pretty much anything and the little puff sleeves are really cute!
And how cute is this dress...
...and these!
However, this dress...
...and this dress are probably my favorites that I picked up.
So not only did I pick up a bunch of really cute summer outfits for Selah and a great smelling candle for super cheap, I had a stress-free visit to Walmart and only wanted to kick one person in the process :)
